The Finance and Administration department provides administrative support for Columbia University Facilities in its daily operations, oversees budgeting and accounting, and develops and produces organizational analyses to assist in long-term strategic planning.
Finance and Administration Groups
- Administrative Planning and Information Systems
The members of the Administrative Planning and Information Systems group are responsible for managing the technological infrastructure and databases of the department, application development, and for compiling and developing management reporting.
- Capital Finance
Capital Finance staff oversee all accounting and processing of financial transactions for construction projects that comprise the University’s capital plan, and provide reporting on the plan as a whole.
- Financial Operations
Financial Operations is responsible for managing the budgeting process, processing accounts payable, overseeing interdepartmental billing, reconciling accounts, and preparing financial reports for all operational departments.
- Human Resources and Labor Relations
In coordination with central Human Resources, the Facilities Human Resources and Labor Relations team oversee recruitment, training, performance management, and payroll and benefits administration, maintain effective working relationships with labor unions, and work to ensure a safe and productive working environment for all employees
