Specific packing, telephone and computer guidelines for the move to Studebaker:

PACKING PLANS

On Thursday, October 5 representatives from the moving company will be stationed in 330 5th Avenue to create and distribute labels and give you instructions on how to label your items.   By Wednesday you should have most of your items in boxes so the correct number of labels can be created.

You should be completely packed by 5:00pm on Thursday, October 4th.

On Friday, October 5 at 9:00 am CUIT Design and Desktop Support and a third party vendor will arrive in Interchurch to begin disconnecting and packing VoIP phones, computers and peripheral equipment, such as printers and fax machines, which will be moved to Studebaker.  

Frank Iovino will coordinate with CUIT the disconnect of payroll computers. 

COMPUTER BACK-UPS & PREPARING YOUR DESKTOP FOR MOVING

CUIT Client Services will visit your site the week of October 1 to install Connected back-up software (CDP) on your desk top which will enable you to automatically back-up your computer nightly. The installation will take approximately 15-20 minutes if you are logged on as a local administrative user so make sure that you know your local administrative i.d. and password.  

Before the initial back-up we will:

Run Windows Update to ensure your computer is up-to-date on all operating system updates
Perform a full virus scan of your entire hard drive using up-to-date virus definitions to ensure your system is free of viruses
The initial back-up may take several hours, but subsequent back-ups will take much less time to run. CDP will enable you to back-up and retrieve individual files, folders, or your complete hard drive.

CUIT Client Services will provide external hard-disks for Mac users to back-up the week of October 1. 

Please note that if you choose not to use these back-up offerings you are responsible for making sure you back-up before your desk top is packed.

MOVING PLANS

The movers will begin the move to Studebaker on the morning of Friday, October 5. Your immediate supervisor will inform you of work schedule.  CUIT Client Services and a third-party vendor will be supervising the installation of phones, computers and printers in the fourth and fifth floor, Studebaker, Saturday, October 6.
